After a dramatic finale, it was Verstappen who went on to claim the World Title – his maiden Title. The season was one for the history books, with only one Championship before it having a final round which saw both competitors enter it even on points and with equal chance of being crowned. Hamilton concluded the season on 387.5 points, only 2 points behind Verstappen, having won 8 races throughout the season alongside several other podium finishes.
